Fallout Could Go Back To Interplay!

What may be overshadowed by the Modern Warfare legal battle between Activision and EA, the Bethesda Vs Interplay still goes on with harsh results.

"We own the rights to everything Fallout. The license is ours. Fallout belongs to us. That's what I'll clarify." Is exactly what Pete Hines, Bethesda VP of PR has said about the entire matter of this legal battle. Although to Interplay he is only a stubborn child declaring to the world he owns only a word.

Interplay have went on record to declare that Bethesda have only bought the title Fallout and not the universe and its inhabitants for a sum of $1, 175, 000. "We sold the Fallout IP to Bethesda in exchange for a certain amount of cash and the right to do the Fallout MMO," says Interplay president Eric Caen."If they refuse to let us do the game, then the sale of the IP is terminated, and they will be allowed to do only one more Fallout, 5.

"But in that case, the IP will come back to us, and of course, we will complete our work and release Fallout MMO."

Of course by Fallout 5 he means the next Fallout from the publisher Bethesda. Fallout: New Vegas still being considered as the fourth game. "The original licensing deal was for three games and their DLC," Caen goes on. "So they already did Fallout 3, then Fallout: New Vegas, and they can only do one more Fallout, 5, if the sale of the IP is cancelled by the court.

"We have confidence in justice, and we should win this case," Caen said. "But the decision isn't in our hands."

Of course Bethesda reply with calling these accusation "absurd" and didn't elaborate. Bethesda apparently have strong argument to say that all Fallout IP is owned by them but haven't expanded publicly on their case which is getting a lot of fans nervous about this case. It is going back and forth but lets face it, we do not want Fallout back at Interplay. If your coming in your pants at this news like the folks at No Mutants Allowed then I can plainly say, go fuck yourself! I am a Fallout fan, but not of the old games, I understand that those where ground breaking for its time of the RPG genre but they suck now. Nobody wants to play a game with mechanics from 11 years ago. But if Fallout goes to Interplay then I highly doubt they would go back to the original Fallout considering that Fallout now is in its hight of success. I just wanted to clarify to all those gamers who wanted it to go back to original Fallout.

Gaming is about going forward, not backwards.

Completly Disagree. I loved fallout 2 and Tactics and just because a game is old DOES NOT make it a BAD game.
Although odds are if it does go back to Interplay they will make a shite game then sell it off AGAIN!

No im not saying they are rubbish im plainly saying for the folks that do believe that Fallout 1, 2 and even tactics are better than 3 are seriously thick. Nothing against the old Fallout games just the fans that are still going amaze me.

The "Fallout world" sucks anyway. What's so unique about brown?

But there ARE aspects of them that are better than 3 and FNV.

Reply to Sucio: It's not brown XD. In the recent games they just stick to a set colour pallette to give it more of an affect of armegeddon.

I would like the writing and classical RPG depth of the originals back. It was not its interface or graphical achievement for me that made them great it was the story skillful creation. I can accept with open arms the world that was created in Fallout if they could incorporate depth and be less afraid to tackle in-depth dialogue it would be a better game for everyone. At least the people who are not afraid to read
