BioShock 2 Minerva's Den Review: A brief story that I got what I paid for.

Minerva's Den is the first story based campaign DLC for BioShock 2 and takes place within the events of BioShock 2 its costs 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox and $9.99 on the PS3.
Minerva's Den is a self-contained narrative experience that puts players in the role of another Alpha Series Big Daddy called Subject Sigma revived by Charles Milton Porter. He has teamed up with Brigid Tenenbaum to unravel Reed Wahl's stranglehold in Rapture Central Computing. Rapture Central Computing houses The Thinker, a gigantic super computer created by Porter and controlling the district.

This at heart gives a little background to what happened to Brigid Tenenbaum after she leaves Subject Delta with Augustus Sinclair, and why it was vital for her departure. I found Minerva's Den to be very worth while to any mad BioShock fan or for just anyone who enjoyed the single player of BioShock 2 and wanted more, in total I completed this in 3 hours on medium difficulty and paced myself quite well picking up any Audio Diaries I can find (which by the way tell three quarters of the story in Minerva's Den). There is one new weapon in the game called an Ion Lance which is a very direct hitting weapon that spews concentrated energy and temporary blinds the enemy, with a new weapon comes a new enemy which is the Lancer Big Daddy a golden suited diver equipped with the Ion Lance which I must admit is one tough (blinging) Big Daddy.
There are about 2 areas for Minerva's Den and are truly something different from the full game, the game designers (small as they are) get really creative with the use of bodies and using the map to make it much more creepier which you cant help to appreciate.
The storyline and conclusion is one I really admire and as always it is kept with the Rapture standards, even though the game more or less gave away the ending before it hit you I still managed to be surprised at a lot of parts but it made Rapture somewhat more interesting and hope the BioShock franchise doesn't move to far from Rapture.
Overall I extremly enjoyed my stay at Minerva's Den: ★ ★ ★ ★

Halo Reach: Deliver Hope (The Live Action Trailer That We All Wanted)

Reach is only around the corner and people are already picking the friends they want to play with, but with these live action trailers the hype just keeps getting bigger.

P.S Did anyone think this was a Pip Boy 3000 when they first saw the still image?

Antichrist is a work of both art and obscene film making

Antichrist is drama/horror directed/written by Lars Von Trier starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg. A couple lose their young son when he falls out the window while they have sex in the other room. The mother's grief consigns her to hospital, but her therapist husband brings her home intent on treating her depression himself. To confront her fears they go to stay at their remote cabin in the woods, "Eden", where something untold happened the previous summer. Told in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film details acts of lustful cruelty as the man and woman unfold the darker side of nature outside and within.
First off this film does not lay back on its sexual content, first scene is Willem Dafoe's erect penis secondly this film is EXTREMELY violent (im planning on not spoiling anything). From watching the first scene of this film I instantly got the subjective theme for it, to make you sick, now thats not a bad thing the aim is to time people on when they leave the cinema asking for there money back, but other than that this films gets a grade A on that part but sadly this film plays in with mythology, symbology, theology or anything that ends with "ology" its cool to play around with it and it does come into the plot but its not explained very well which is quite sad and annoying since they had several researches on the plot.
Now this film isint bad at all, alot of stuff is graphic and is somewhat pointless at places but however sets the mood (which is a disturbing one) quite well, you can say that its art which im willing to back up but it dies when something obscure happens, I really appreciate its mixed emotions the plot and acting is quite superb and pretty believable but your taking out of the film to reach for whatever can shield your eyes from the screen (which I enjoy) so be weary.
I enjoyed it but sadly it was questionable and I really didnt fully understand the main plot which is a bitch since I know how hard they worked on it.

"Look Daddy Its You....."

Just recently picked up one of the line of dolls Neca are doing for BioShock 2, but im not big on there action figure series but I adore the two Delta & Bouncer replica plush dolls. The price is somewhat fair of $20 for a nice detailed and iconic plush doll .This is a pretty cute doll exactly the one Eleanor is holding in the introduction cut scene , its not as polished as it looks the soft parts are really filthy including the baseball with smudges of dirt all around it, its pretty cool but dont put it in the wash, what I really like is the small little bit of seaweed on the watches screen its a nice touch as if it just came out of the ocean.
I really love this beauty, its right on my shelf beside my Sounds From The Lighthouse record and its a must have for any BioShock freaks such as myself!

Blast From The Past: the Amazing Spider-man #33 and Detective Comics #313

Just recently I picked up Detective Comics issue 313 at the local comic book store for 20 euro, not bad for quite an old issue but I couldn't refuse, the very series that started Batman and Robin from 1963? Sure as hell gonna pick that up. What also came to me today was #33 of the Amazing Spider-man volume 1 of course from 1965 a historic and iconic issue of Spider-man and one of Steve Ditko's very best work.
This video talk about Ditkos art in this comic and one of my favourite novelist Neil Gaiman, being a fan also, talks about how the art is the finest in the industry. I really enjoyed this comic its opening is amazing and the moral values it teaches in this comic is really great, its quite nice to add a Steve Ditko comic to the bunch because he is, in all fairness, a legend and a great artist. The oldest comic I have on record is Detective Comic #131 which is quite a nice issue one I have never came across before, the art itself is quite typical for its time however the costumes of Batman and Robin seem so bizarre in this issue. Its hard to explain to be honest, its like a baby drawn a few scribbles and Jack Kirby drawn powering Galactus and then someone compared them, the characterises of Batman and Robin are classic at heart but are defiantly ahead of its time. I learned alot out of that issue and thoroughly satisfied that I bought it.

I Mind These Dogs You See....

Just chilaxing here for there morning walkabout.

Hehehehehehehe.......

They want the ball...typical.

My dog always steals there stuff, heres her trying to get away...

Nancy Drew (We think he looks exactly like her)

Cute Nimisha.

Sunday Night After Effects Test

So I made this little introduction recently on Adobe After Effects just as a little mess around, cant say im going to use this for future video but hey what the hell you never know, Alex Brand actually might make an appearance in Gears Of War 3.
So most the effects in this video is pretty much the basic filling in colours and masking on Alex's part, I feathered the edges and added the glow effect to make her stand out a little. The rain was nicely used and smoke in the background had a nice contribution to this video. Im probably going to make a much more permanent and fuller video introduction eventually also making some cool stuff for my friend also so stay tuned.

Gears Of War #13 Farewell Liam Sharp

Gears Of War #13 is not only the last episode of Barren its also the last time Liam Sharp does the art for the comics. This is some of his finest work on this comic, it really feels like a crazy sci fi action movie. The silhouettes and shading is incredibly impressive something you would expect out of Liams great work but the background detail is just something, its a great conclusion it was pretty intense for a comic and the character departure's where one I didnt expect.
Liam Sharp art style was perfect for the Gears Of War series and none could say otherwise, he contributed so much and he will be missed. Another who will be departing will be Joshua Ortega the comic series writer his final issue will will be #14 and will be released in October. As for where the comic will go after #14 is a an exciting one taking over from Joshua will be much loved Karen Travis who wrote the Gears Of War novels and will be assisted by artist Leonardo Manco. There debut issue should be #15. Im pretty excited to see what Karen is going to do with the comics hopefully she will bring Alex into the comics (hope she enters Gears Of War 3 too).

As for Leonardo Manco taking over he isint knew to Gears Of War he assisted on #11 where the art kept changing page after page, it became pretty stupid and annoying some of the art was really good but it kept taking dramatic changes. Manco's art was ok it wasn't perfect and it didn't compare to Sharps drawing, but that doesnt mean hes completely hopeless. The front cover to #14 looks incredibly impressive and the issue is about Jace Stratton entering the COG military, which I think is a nice departure from Joshua Ortega since Jace is his creation. Here's hoping many more comics will be as good as Sharp's and Ortega.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gameplay!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is looking lik the shit! This trailer should pull alot of people and it looks so cool, im really looking forward to see how this game pulls itself out from the bunch of games hitting next year.
Looks pretty cool just hope it doesn't go over the top sci fi adventure, I hate those.

BioShock Infinite Will Put The Series Straight.

Have you heard?? Oh I assumed everyone heard that BioShock Infinite is going to blow your mind away!! Its true when Cliff Blezinski says that Ken Levine is the man because he somewhat is just check this sexy ass trailer.
Its pretty crazy right? Like why in gods name would they even call it BioShock? Well its because Take Two Interactive want to make BioShock a franchise kinda like Star Wars. So people where Shocked (see what I did there?) at the announcement since we kinda expected that Ken Levine was finished with BioShock, but he is and he isint at the same time, he say's that this IS NOT a prequel and brushes off question's relevant to BioShock, saying that it isint necessary at this point of its press release. So that question still stand, is Infinite the same universe of the first BioShock? Probably.
So the announcement went with a demo demonstrating how the game was played unfortunately this was not released to the public and can read on Kotaku. It sounds quite incredible to be honest and im really looking forward to it but a 2012 release? Ouch that hurts but still a day one purchase.
So what will happen to Rapture? the Splicers? the Bid Daddy's? Well I dont think its time to say farewell yet, 2k Marin is apparently set there list for a BioShock 3 and Take Two Interactive have already pretty much leaked that information so we more than likely will see a Rapture return soon enough.
I think true BioShock fans will love this sure Rapture was great but from BioShock 2 we know that Rapture can oddly get tiresome its something we have already seen and after all BioShock was supposed to be about atmosphere and setting not about Rapture.
BioShock is all about old retro posters and genetic powers from the tip of your fingers and thats exactly what Infinite will be portraying alot of people will be confused from this announcement and I expect them to be this is a new engine, a new city and there is two years from release, this game should make you jizz your pants!

Metro 2033 DLC Achievements Are Dead! KHAN!!!

I was quite happy Metro 2033 finally brought some DLC on the horrizon so it could give me an excuse to play the damn thing on Ranger Hardcore and get me some delicious achievables but unfortunatly Microsoft has once again deprived me of those achievables and may God damn them! The 4A guys call it an anomaly and says its Microsoft fault, but heres me sitting here with no achiveable! So what do we do in the meantime? Blame Khan is what im doing!

Mafia 2 Demo Impressions

Mafia 2 hit Xbox Live on the 10th of August in which I have been anticipating highly since I have heard word about it. So since I finally got a stab at it, what do I think? Two words, Freakin Awesome.
Now im huge on gangster movies I just love them and in a sense Mafia style movies dominate the movie industry critically and box office wise. So will that experience ever come to the gaming industry?
If you have been following the developers commentary its pretty evident that they take alot of influence from alot of mob movies and taking the traditional route with the game with voice actors and obviously setting. Now the 2k Czech haven't done anything revolutionary with this game, its the typical sandbox game similar to Red Dead Redemption and GTA with alot little perks also, other than the customizable cars and clothes alot of touches like bribing the police and pick locking a car is a nice add on.
Ultimately Mafia 2 focus's on storyline, characters and setting to thrive and from what we have seen this is classic mob tale and nothing else to it. Im defiantly looking forward to this game I have a fetish for games like these so its an instant buy for me.
You know its a pitty no game has picked up from this setting before which is somewhat a surprise but its great to see Rockstar contributing with L.A Noire which I think will be ten times better than Red Dead Redemption.
But for now "..forget about it".

Will Someone Who Owns This Bottle Please Stand Up?

AND GIVE HIM A MEDAL!

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer Teaser

So looking forward to Black Ops? Well im not really there yet but im 68% positive if im going to buy this game or not its either this or Medal Of Honor but MoH multiplayer sucks.
Im a fan of the knife flingy thing looks funny, so this multiplayer looks like Call Of Duty 2.5 an improvement of what we got in last september just fixes and balances all the things we didint like about Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, so it sound cool right? *shrugs* looks cool to me.

Halo Reach Vs Black Ops Vs Medal Of Honor

The first half of the year is cramped with blockbuster games but the big names is the big three Halo, Call Of Duty and Medal Of Honor. Its obvious which one is gonna sell more either Call Of Duty or Medal Of Honor since there going to be multi platform but which one is going to be the biggest? Are much loved Activision CEO Bobby Kotick says Black Ops will sell more than Modern Warfare 2 (he must be smoking some bad weed) but will it really? And will Medal Of Honor get the critical success of Modern Warfare 2?
These question will all be answered this year my speculation is that Black Ops will top both of them but wont get anywhere near Modern Warfare 2, Medal Of Honor will not get the critical success that it is hoping for and Halo Reach will capture the Bungie Junkie's as always but as for the rest its just another Halo and I doubt it will do well other than the true fans. Either way im not really looking forward to these title's unless we see some really cool stuff from Call Of Duty or Medal Of Honor.

Im Interested In To Comics!

You know people ask me why im interested into comic's and why im even bother to buy them, well I guess its an thing I have enjoyed since I was 10/12 where I collected The Amazing Spider-Man but since it became too difficult to buy them, and always seem to buy them too late, ive kinda just got too annoyed when I missed an issue and didnt arse myself to travel so far to get them. So I traded with a few friends got The Avengers and the Justice League vs Avengers and a few Batman comics you know the classic characters but eventually became to dry and stopped but of course I was young and went onto different interests but alas I couldn't refuse when I bared my eyes on a front cover of Spider-Man in the middle of a fight between Venom and some new character called Anti Venom, I was intrigued by this new character and couldn't resist myself from buying it, the giant flashback of me being 10 years old reading Spider-Man rushed through my mind and enjoying all of the art and dialogue was awesome so right now the pact stands to continue to buy the amazing Spider-Man.
But of course it didnt stop at Spider-Man, Anti Venom drawn my attention into him and realized that he had his own mini series of comics I picked up part 3 and 2 in the comic book store however part 1 was not present but I wasnt going to give up Anti Venom was way to cool to ignore so ebay helped a ton on getting me the entire mini series. So setting up an ebay account wasnt the most smartest thing for my wallet, classic comics became a new interest for me going into my local store to buy Thor and Captain America bronze age comics became cheap and interesting but until I began to pick at bigger prizes is where it became fully interesting. My childhood like many others consisted of sitting in front of the T.V for hours on end (and a bit of Mario) but I never truly liked the Spider-Man animated series I dont know it was just to childish for me (yea I know I was a child but I found it a bit stupid) I loved however the Silver Surfer animated series now that was the shit!My generation was incredibly deep. So now the Silver Surfer IS my favourite super hero of ALL TIME sure Spider-Man is amazing and huge part of my childhood however the Silver Surfer storyline dwelve on such deep emotion that the character never had from his troubled life on a perfect planet.
My comic reach goes to ANYTHING im a Gears Head so im always on them of course and Kane and Lynch just might get there but im always looking out for classics, right now they consist of Thor, Captain America and the Silver Surfer my prized issue (at the moment) is issue fifty of the Fantastic Four: The Startling Saga Of The Silver Surfer. My ideal issue is one I haven't gotten yet and is right in my reach, issue 14 of the Silver Surfer with guest Spider-Man and Captain America! Im onto it and im getting it soon! So right now my fascination of comics lies on classic comics in the silver age. So right now you know my current statues on comics and what I hope to aim!

The Avengers Has A Short Teaser

This teaser was shown at the San Diego Comic Con 2010.
I HOPE its a good movie.

Limbo Review!

Its really rare when you come by a game as innovated as Limbo especially when its only $15, now when I say innovated I only talk about the atmosphere and the art design of Limbo. This game is simplicity at its finest there are only two controls which is basic move and jump, the level design and how to proceed onwards into the depths of Limbo is comprised of a set of unique puzzles the map allows you to interact with, these can consist of a lever to activate zero gravity or the basic pushing boxes mechanisms. Limbo is a strange game for its kind, it relies on its setting, art style and illuminating environment to dazzle you through the entire game while you solve the odd puzzle here and there, the silhouette designs are instantly admirable and bring complete innocence to the little boy with bright eyes. The games perspective of Limbo is a haunting one consisting of other little boys trying to kill you in gory ways or a giant spider hunting you.
If you didnt read the storyline of Limbo before you bought it like myself, you will know absolutely nothing about this game there is no narrative, introduction, or cut scenes. The brief ending is what made my experience with Limbo is all I will say.  The simplicity of this game is truly amazing, the game is all about using the environment to solve your puzzles and most of the time its basic logic to get through, many times you will get an epiphany and instantly realise the puzzles and be kicking yourself for not getting it first time round.
I have to admit im not big into puzzle games I enjoy the dazzling kind like P.B. Winterbottom and Limbo, but Limbo was certainly an amazing experience and even though the ending was brief all I want to do is go back.
This game is mesmerizing: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Jackass 3D Is Upon Us!

Kane and Lynch #1 Isint So Bad!

The Kane and Lynch comic just came out a few days ago so since im kinda a fan of the duo I was kinda looking forward to this, these guys are no different in the comics then they are in the game which means there fucking relentless. These guys just dont give two fucks about anything and never consider anything other than loading there shotgun and pulling the trigger while the barrel is next to there victims heads, the comics pick up directly after the first game where Kane has saved his daughter Jenny in which they realise that the 7 still have a price on their heads. This comic is non-stop action the psychopath Lynch is crazier then ever and Kane is as pissed off as ever still killing shit loads of people for his wife's death. The art could use more time, I kinda got confused on whose who because every man with a beard looks like Kane. Overall I fucking love it!

BioShock 2 Gets An All NEW Exspansion!

Finally the story of BioShock 2 continuous with Minerva's Den where players take hold of an all new character to assist Brigid Tenebaum to fight a dictator on an all new location in the city of Rapture.
"Minerva's Den is a substantial addition that will give players more of what they're looking for: more story, more narrative, more gameplay and more of Rapture," says Christoph Hartman president of 2k Games."The core team has created an exciting product that further enhances the mystery and allure of the world of Rapture. Minerva's Den will be a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga." This pack will have new weapons, new Splicers, Plasmids, security bots and a new type of Big Daddy.
This is the dlc I was looking forward too I cant wait for this, I wonder who play us and what happens to Tenebaum? Its gonna be an interesting expansion and a must buy from me!

Blast From The Past:The Fantastic Four #50 Review!

One comic I just recently got was The Fantastic Four #50 the last issue of the Galactus trilogy and will make a nice addition into my Silver Surfer pile, now mind you im a massive fan of the Silver Surfer so I had to check out the issue where the Silver Surfer departs from Galactus and gets disbanded on earth. The issue continues from #49 where the Silver Surfer has been convinced that Galactus feast on Earth is evil and wrong in which he confronts him. The Surfer pleads Galactus to leave earth and feed on another planet, however since he does not see the necessity of the human race and he is above good and evil he sees no remorse for his actions, meanwhile the Watcher has sent Johnny throughout the galaxy on a quest to find The Ultimate Nullifyer a device so powerful it can destroy an entire galaxy, including Galactus.
This issue is a classic, containing strong storyline and some incredibly interesting and powerful characters. I enjoyed this issue because it shows not only the vulnerability of Galactus but to show a good and trustworthy side of him too, not only Galactus but I found that the entire belief and foundation of the Silver Surfer comes from this issue which is why I suppose its called The Startling Saga Of The Silver Surfer. This is one of my favorite issues of the Silver Surfer and will  be looking out for the two remaining issues!
Overall im incredibly satisfied with this purchase of $40. Out of 5: ★ ★ ★ ★

Gears Of War Movie Status In Limbo

Currently the Gears Of War movie is being re-written and brought back to the drawing board says Executive Producer of the Gears of War movie Cliff Bleszinski. After Len Wiseman left the project (thank Jesus!) the film has stayed silent ever since and remains for any Directors grasp, but when the film was slashed of its 100 million budget they realized that it was time for a little less chainsawing scenes in the script.
Cliff says that the script is rewritten because Len Wiseman script was somewhat equivalent to the movie 2012 his script says its gonna be more like District 9. Interesting. I wonder if the Old Spice guy will start saying he watches Cliff's movies with his shirt off.

NEW R.E.D Trailer (Really looking forward to this)

Retired Extremely Dangerous is defiantly on my "must see" list, its based on the graphic novel published by Wildstorm comics. I think this might be a good film Bruce Willis has done in a long time, and after looking at the list of films hes up to I have to say im not stoked, heres me really excited.
John Malkovich looks hilarious in this.

Medal Of Honor Short Film Released By Linkin Park

As promised by EA the short film is finally here directed by Linkin Parks own Joe Hahn featuring, surprise, there own song "The Catalyst" and by the way the live action bearded guy (Rabbit) is the Producer behind Medal Of Honor Greg Goodrich whos been growing that beard since E3. Check it.
Its true that it only gets good at 2:25 where all the epicness start to show, in a good way of course. Its a pretty cool trailer im looking forward to the campaign of this game, not too big on the multiplayer.
