Halo Reach - Review

"From the Beginning, You Know The End"

This is what we know. We know that the events of this game directly impact the events of the Halo Trilogy. So with that in mind, lets get down to business.

As this is Bungies final Halo game, it's only logical that it would be one of the best. With this title, they have drawn on over a decades worth of experience to craft what I believe to be the "definitive Halo, made by the people who created Halo".

It has also turned out to be one of, if not the most feature packed game of the year. You have your essentials with Campaign and multiplayer, along with Firefight, Custom games, Forge and Theatre. Now with the Campaign, Bungie have said they wanted a more character driven story, with more attention to real world detail and I believe they have accomplished this. Having rebuilt their game engine from the ground up, you can clearly see how much of a difference their is.

I don't want to spoil anything about the Campaign so I 'll simply say that it is thoroughly enjoyable, with plenty of replay value, and has a few little nods to the previous games that are a nice touch. And as always Martin O'Donnell and his audio team have crafted yet another awe inspiring soundtrack that scores exactly what you feel while playing. Also with Firefight and custom games their are just an insane amount of options you can play with that can and will keep you entertained for hours on end. Forge has been revamped and with its new tools and options, it's more friendly to new users. The addition of Forge World - a giant map with multiple locations your imagination and creativety really is the limit. Finally Theatre mode returns with the ability to take film clips from Campaign.

With all of this, Bungie has also upgraded the file share options, with the ability to tag your content, share it and search for community content all from within the game.

This has more than satisfied my "Grunty Thirst": ★ ★ ★ ★
